St Stephen’s, Bath
The site is only 2670sqft which is 0.061 of an acre. We gained consent for 4 beds, 3 baths, cloakroom, sitting room kitchen with a very large roof terrace, courtyard garden and garage.
The build involved a major dig out and civil engineering involving removing over 3,000 tons of spoil with the dig out reaching a depth of 6m below existing ground levels. It took over 300 tons of concrete and nearly 30 tons of reinforcing bar to build the retaining wall and floor structure.
It was a very complex build due to the lack of space, the difficulty of the civil engineering and all the detailing required to get all of the junctions between steels, concrete, natural stone and blockwork correct.
The external finishes are a combination of Ashlar stone and rendered blockwork with highly bespoke top end finishes internally.
